I animated the final part for the Lay All Your Love On Me Multiple Animator Project (MAP) hosted by Roseshards, which was set to the ABBA song of the same name and based on the Warriors series by Erin Hunter.

I used this project as an opportunity to learn Blender’s Grease pencil system for hybrid 2D character animation in a 3D scene. At the time, the feature had been newly overhauled. A significant amount of my time on this project was spent battling bugs that have since been resolved (such as z-fighting regardless of placement in the scene) and creating workarounds to combat the absence of features that hadn’t yet been introduced (such as the lack of interaction with scene lighting). I’d like to revisit Grease Pencil workflows with a newer version of Blender that allows artists more power and control.

The MAP features the characters Tigerheart and Dovewing, a pair of cats in a forbidden inter-clan relationship. My part depicts Dovewing crossing territory borders to live with Tigerheart in his clan.

The pair walk into Shadowclan territory together. Show an extreme long shot as they walk off into the distance, tails entwined.
